Hi,
As the question title says, how can i find out VMWare host machine hardware information like number of CPU's, CPU speed, number of Cores etc.
on VMWare site, http://www.vmware.com/supp
I found VMWare Infrastructure SDK 2.x.x, which uses the WSDL API to get the above information about the Host machine. But Its all Web based API's. I want to use some System level calls to get the Host machine H/W information. Is there any other way to get the above information using some system level API's or i can use some other technique to get the information ? Please suggest.

Not with VMware Tools only.
It would be a security breach to get this information inside the guest.
The only way provided by vmware is to use a Virtual Center and query this information through the VMware Infrastructure Perl Toolkit (which in fact queries the VCC database).
For sure you can run this toolkit commands inside a virtual guest.
Virtual Center can be an MsSQL database, so if you know the right tables with the information, should it be possibel to query with sql for this information. There is table information available from VMware (http://www.vmware.com/pdf
Ok, now i found sample inside VI SDK, Where i have to pass the administrator credentials while communicating with VM Server, like one of the java sample i am running from windows command prompt:
$ run com.vmware.samples.perform
-username root --password abcsd --host Vmware.server.com --counter cpu.ready.
summation --ignorecert ignorecert
So, Is there any other way to get the Host hardware info, without using administrative credentials or using some other method thru available where i can get the above information ?

Would the esxcfg-info command output give you what you want?
You'd have to parse it - and the format is not set in stone, but it may give you the info you need.
