Ok, this is definetly an ESX newbie question - trouble is I can't find an answer..probably looking in the wrong place I know...
I want to be able to access the console shell on my server (locked up in the server room) from my Windows desktop. I thought I might just telnet to it and be prompted for the root password - didn't work for me... It's a long time since I touched unix and was never comfortable with vi etc but I guess I need to relearn a lot of stuff. I'm working towards configuring ntp services and installing Backup exec agents - I have found info on those, but it seems I need to be sitting in front of the physical esx server console to get that beloved command line prompt - that can't be right ...can it?
