Getting VMWare to recognize the LPT port

Not really a question but more of a posting:
Searching EE I could not find a solution to the question
VMWare will not see LPT port
Add the following to the configuration file of the virtual machine you want to see the lpt port:
parallel0.present = "true"

Hi

First, what VMware version are you using?

Second, have you add the parallel port in your Virtual Machines settings?

Are you trying to use the parallel port from your host?

I got it to see the lpt port by adding the line mentioned above to the config file.  parallel0.present = "true"
I just wanted to be able to search Experts Exchange in the future and find the solution.

Adding that line, or adding the item in the Virtual Server settings is the same
