Steps for succssful creation of a virtual server

Tags: vmware, vmware converter and vmwaer server console

I have begun testing vmwares, vmware converter and vmware server console, for hopefully what i can use  as images for backup servers and a testing enviorment.

i though i had followed all steps correctly but i am doing something wrong as i cant load the image i am taking with converter into the virtual server console!

can anyone provide me with a beginners guide on the step for step process needed to achive this?
