Shared storage between ESX hosts?

I have two ESX hosts (version 3.5.0) connected via Virtual Center 2.5, in a cluster with DRS and HA enabled.  Also in the picture is an iSCSI SAN, with two LUNs on it... a production lun, for all of our "user data", and a system lun for our VM "C drives" (operating system).

Now... my problem is that the LUNs are visible to both ESX hosts, but I am unable to make the datastores visible to both ESX hosts.  They're both configured identically (to my knowledge).

More specifically, on my first host I went into the configuration > storage, and then added the two LUNs as datastores ("Production" and "Systems").  When I go to the other host, however, it is telling me I need to format?  I even migrated all of our systems onto the production lun and formatted the systems datastore.... all that did was waste my time as it did nothing.
