The default ports that the VirtualCenter Server uses to listen for connections from the
VI Client are ports 80, 443, and 902.
Port 902 is the default port that VirtualCenter uses to send data to the managed hosts.

make sure there is no Network Address Translation (NAT) firewall between VirtualCenter and the hosts
it will manage.

On ESX 3.0.x the viclient uses tcp port 902 and 903
On ESX 3.5 the viclient uses tcp port 443 and 903
Note also that if you're doing NAT between your Virtual Center server and the ESX servers you'll run into some issues.
