My boss ask me to setup software iSCSI on one of hp dl 580 server, but I new to this kind of technology, so please help me on this kind of question.<br />

my server has two network ports Nic 1 and Nic 2. I will install VMware esx 3.0 on to this machine and I will assign Nic 1 for service console.<br />
<br />
My question is , may I assign Nic 2 for software iSCSI? if this is correct, please let me know what is the next step? Do I need to connect Nic 2 to a switch? Do I need to install any software to make Nic 2 active?<br />
