Question

How do i connect to ESXi so that i can modify a config file.

I am trying to configure a VMware ESXi server for HA and im getting the following error

Configuration of host IP is inconsistant on host <hostname>: ddress resolved to Host misconfigured.

http://www.yellow-bricks.com/2008/06/04/changing-the-ip-address-of-an-esx-host-and-ha/ recommends that to resolve this problem i force VMware to recreate its FT_HOSTS file as per the article

However i cant get console access to ESXi to do this and with RCLI i couldnt figure out how to do this either. Does anyone know how to achieve this?

If you want to ssh to the console.
Download PuTTY.

ssh is not used for configuring ESXi as it is a cutdown OS, that was the first thing i tried
