The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Problem with Vmware 2.0.0

Asked by Bwalters613 in VMware, Virtualization

Hi i am having an issue with vmware. I am running an HP ML350 running server 2003 x64 standard. I have a virtual machine running server 2003 x32 standard. The virtual server runs great when I first start it up but if I walk away and let the server sit for approx 10 hours I come back and I have a message saying
"Description:Message from myserver.NET: Operation on file "E:\FundWare Virtual Server\Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition-flat.vmdk" failed.
If the file resides on a remote file system, please make sure your network connection and the server where this disk resides are functioning properly. If the file resides on removable media, reattach the media.
Choose Retry to attempt the operation again.
Choose Abort to terminate this session.
Choose Continue to forward the error to the guest operating system."
When I see this I cant rdp to the virtual serveer or ping the virtual server. As soon as I hit retry or continue the server comes back like nothing happened. I am running Blackberry server on the virtual and It shows the last contact time to the devices as the same time that the message appears on the screen. but as soon I get back in to the vs the bes server reconnects with the devices. The system clock on the vs also shows the time I received the message but corrects itself as soon as it talks to the domain controller. I am at a loss to why this is happening. any help would be greatly appreciated.
