- This Machine B has Operating System (Windows 2003 Server) and also functions as Domain Controller
- Do you think it is a PERMISSION issue?
- When i create the DataStore; What user name that i am using; i believe "root" right; and i believer Machine B does not know user "root" at all
- I am confused here
From the Service console of your ESX server try using vmkping instead of normal ping and see if you can reach it. NFS is mounted from the vmkernel interface.
Also make sure you use the exact same name convention when mounting the secondary noe as you did on your first ESX server so that the volume id becomes equal.

" .......did you check the log /var/log/vmkernel in your esx?"
Answer:
- I use the vi editor
- i go to vi /var/log/vmkernel
-Result:
* Too many pages
* Which one to check?
larstr:
#1: " ......try using vmkping......."
Answer:
- i go to [root@localhost root]#
- i use vmkping
- Result:
* Yes, i can ping it very well (3 packets transmitted, 3 packets received)
# 2: " Also make sure you use the exact same name convention when mounting the secondary noe as you did on your first ESX server so that the volume id becomes equal."
Answer:
- I do not know how to check this in order to know the "exact same name convention"; could you show the direction?
- What is "the secondary noe"?
- Would you explain a little bit more related to this # 2 and direct me which one that i have to check?
Thank you for both of you
