What is the main difference beetwen ESXi 3.5 and 4?
Is 3.5 still a good platform to deploy or should I move to v4? I'm building a single VMserver to host SBS2008 Premium to separate the main installation from the SQL so they run on two separate machines, so nothing fancy.
I was trying to download ESXi 3.5 update 3 or 4 but it didn't have much luck, anybody has a direct link?

If your CPU hardware supports it (i.e. 64-Bit CPU w/ CPU Execution mode: Intel VT-x or AMD-V), then I would opt for the ESXi v4.0 release.

I believe the big one is that ESX 4 is a 64 bit application where ESX 3.5 is 32 bit, so in ESX 4 you can have both 64 and 32 bit guests.
Here is a list of some features to look at that lack from ESX 3.5:
1. Host profiles
2. Host Update Utility
3. Fault Tolerance
4. GUI Storage VMotion
5. vDistributed Network Switches and Cisco Nexus 1000v integration
6. vShield Zone
7. Hot pluggable (remove devices while VM's online)
8. Double resources support (ram, memory, etcc.)
9. Support cloud solution & x64 bit architecture & seperate SC VM (VMDK)
