Activating VM Image

I have a Windows XP workstation that currently has a lot of important applications
I wanted to convert this image into a VM but this machine was installed with an OME version of XP Pro
Now that I am trying to run the image it wants me to activate the product what options do I have?

Call in to the activation hotline and explain to them the situation. They will be happy to help you activate your XP. Have done it many time.

You mean OEM License.

Just active it via the phone as you can tell the tech you replace the motherboard or CPU on the machine.

Buy a license:

OEM software is not an option in this instance as it is only licensed to be distributed pre-installed on a single computer system from which it can never be transferred.

I am glad it worked for you. All they want to know is that you are only using it on one machine OEM or not.
