How i can schedule guests backups of an ESXi to another ESXi host and to PC station too with FREE Solutions for SMB
I searched a lot about how to schedule a backup of guests files in ESXi Server to another ESXi Server and to a normal PC station.
I believe that the best solution is Vmotion and/or/- Vcenter with converter server plugin for ESXi2ESXi
But those best solutions cost a lot for SMB.
Veeam FastSCP appears to do his job, but how i correctly automatize it with ESXi? (pause VM, do the copy, restore VM)
There is any way to do schedule conversions with VMware vCenter Converter Standalone? like command lines?
If yes, that ll be perfectly in my case to ESXi ESXi (the main guest its a Windows Server 2003 )
Or there are another free solutions?
Thanks experts.

vConverter comes with vSphere, run the vCenter setup and you should see vConverter. Install it and then go to vCenter and plug-ins and enable the plugin and you're all set.
Your version of vSphere does not include vMotion and you cannot upgrade with Essentials.
You may also look at Veeam backup which does backup to CIFS, or another ESX/ESXi host. You can also do replication with it at as well.

The Veeam backup that you mean is the paid software or the free Veeam FastSCP ?
It is the paid one. The FreeSCP wokrks but the VMs have to be shutdown

Well, actually i am "converting" a production VM in ESXi to another ESXi Backup Host, then i copy this machine with FastSCP to another computer in network.
The simple, complete, and Free solution for me ll be this basic logic:
Make the VMware Convert Standalone version do a schedule conversion.
With this, i backup the converted VM from the another ESXi host to a third machine with FastSCP.
Everything ll be schedule, no manual work

If you vCenter you can run the conversion directly out of vCenter console. If you have vCenter you are entitled the enterprise version of vConverter and can do multiple conversions at a time

Well, i ll need buy the vSphere Essentials, its $1000, cheaper than $500 per socket license of Veeam Backup (1 physical quad core = 4 sockets and 4 licenses, = $2000)
Thank you
Thank you

In this case, are 2 ESXi Hosts, the production one, and the another used for tests and backup of the first in case of hardware failure. There are a normal PC station too for guest files backup of the production ESXi host.
