Vmware esx 4.1 Dell 1855 Chasis Fiberchannel connection between DS400

Hello
- Dell 1855 Chasis 10 Blades
- Mcdata 4314 4 Port inline san switch
- IBM DS400 Storage - Dual Controller

- IBM DS400 raid5 structured , discovered and added WWN of DELL Servers , when i do scan at vmware / storage adapter / found 4 paths

but all of them DEAD ,

double checked all physical connections . all interfaces up ,

where am i doing wrong ?

looks more like a qlogic firmware... either way, do you see the column for Active Zones? that shouldn't be empty if you have actually set up zones. soft zoning still requires that you associate target(s) and host(s).

I checked at bios of Qlogic , it was disabled. . but after enable still same...

here is the screenshot

ps. mine firmware is 1.42 , but 1.52 available... ill try to update now

when i try to update qlogic card at windows 2003 its not detecting card. but at windows 2003 detects card and i can see harddisks at disk management of windows.

any advice ?

I'm having a similiar problem with an IBM x355 running VMware 4.1 esxi trying to connect an IBM DS400 I have an IBM 2109-F16 switch and the esx sees the WWN of the DS400 but the path appears as dead mpath.txt
