VMWare 5 - Add HP Storageworks 1760
We have recently migrated Windows 2003 server from a HP ML370 to a Dell R510. All seems fairly good so far apart from the fact that we are unable to add the Storageworks 1760 (external drive) as a device.
During boot up the server sees that the tape device is using ID 3 and the LSILogic 1020/1030 is using ID 7. However, when attempting to add the tape device to the server through the vSphere Client, it does not appear appear in the hardware list for selection (see attached).
As a test, I added an IBM 420 LTO 2 and this appears in the list for selection.
Are we missing something obvious?
