Can't Configure SNMP Traps on ESXi 5.1
I am unable to configure SNMP communities on my ESXi 5.1 server via the shell console. When I attempt to run the folowing comand; vicfg-snmp.pl --server hostname --username username --password password --show, I get an error message: "vicfg is not a valid command"
Can anybody assist?

After doing this from the remote CLI, I am now getting the below message:
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware vSphere CLI\bin>vicfg-snmp.pl --drs-vsphere
02
Unknown option: drs-vsphere02
For a summary of command usage, type 'C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware vSphe
re CLI\bin\vicfg-snmp.pl --help'.
For documentation, type 'perldoc C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware vSphere CL
I\bin\vicfg-snmp.pl'.
It looks like it is not able to see the remote esxi server I am tryiong to enable SNMP on. I have also tried via IP address.

Just been fussy here, but http:#a38413832 is not the Accepted Solution.
Use the vicfg-snmp.pl command from the Remote CLI or vSphere CLI to enable the SNMP agent and configure trap destinations.
