P2V a Windowsw 2003 Server

I have need to p2v a Windows 2003 server.  I am in a VMware v5 environment. This will be my first attempt to perform the p2v precedure.  I need to know the step-by-step process to successfully complete the procedure.  I would also like to be aware of any pitfalls, advantages, and opportunities.  For example:

Are there any risks to the source
Any driver updates required
....

Thank you,

Firstly you will need 4.3 of VMware Converter if this is 2003 eg not R2 latest versions of Converter have had support for 2003 removed.

Then review All my EE articles on P2V
No risk to source however you will need to remove all hardware depedant drivers and software before P2V

ASKER

Andrew,

I was just informed that the source machine is a Windows 2008 R2 box.  I will read each of your P2V articles before I proceed.  Is there a link to the articles you posted?
