I am trying to completely remove Virtualbox from my Ubuntu 8.04 system. I do not remember exactly how I installed it (was quite a while ago). I tried to remove it from the Add/Remove application, but when I search for files containing virtualbox on my system quite a few com up. What is the best way to safely remove everything? Also, in my Applications>System Tools menu I still have a listing for Sun xVM VirtualBox that I cannot get rid of. If I edit the menu this does not show up as an option to remove it. Hoping to get that fixed too. Here are the files that a search comes up with

You will also have your own virtualbox files, like when you created virtual machines, set aside disk space etc. You will find these files in your home folder within .virtualbox folder. Notice the dot before the virtualbox. If you do not want to delete these configurations, then you can keep the folder, else remove it.

You have still some configuration files in your system. Try purgin them by typing:
sudo aptitude purge virtualbox-ose
