Compress a VHD in Windows Seven

How to compress a VHD file in Windows Seven?

The only solution I know (as http://blogs.msdn.com/heaths/archive/2005/07/30/445621.aspx) uses Virtual Disk Wizard, but Virtual PC is not compatible nevermore with Windows Seven, so I can't find how to run the Virtual Disk Wizard.

They are trying to do away with the ability to use a compressed VHD file for Virtual PC and Virtual Server.  There is a beta of Virtual PC 2009 in Technet and is supposed to be available soon.  

As for Virtual PC working on Windows 7, I have it working on my computer without doing any modifications or customization.  I did a standard install and it works.  Slowly, but it works.

Do you have a link, please? I can't find anything on the Technet site (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Search/en-US/?query=Virtual%20PC%202009&ac=3). All results are about the VPC 2007...

When I run VPC 2007 SP1 on Windows Seven RC, it shows a "This program is blocked due to compatibility issues" message with "Check for solutions online" and "Cancel" button. If I click the first one, it search online and after a few seconds displays "No solutions found for Virtual PC 2007 SP1." Don't see any way to bypass compatibility error...

Well, no I can't provide a link.  I just signed in to Technet and the only thing there is 2007.  Even the Virtual Server 2008 that was in there is gone.  I looked at it about two weeks ago and was going to download both, but decided to wait.  I guess I should have downloaded them then.  And to think... Windows 3.1 is still available! :)

Can you use Virtual Server instead?  You won't get sound or the ability to share folders, but it may work for what you need.

Well, I can always copy the VHD to another network PC running Vista and then use Virtual PC 2007 (or compacting a *copy* of VHD with Windows XPs Virtual PC installed on this VHD; looks natural, isn't it?).
I just hoped there is a way to compact VHDs directly from Seven.

Found an alternative. I used "compact vdisk" command of diskpart utility.

What? Compacting with diskpart? No, I did it directly from host Windows Seven.
