It starts the install process, and then hangs at "Starting Installation". The CPU usage is high, but nothing appears to get written to the Virtual Disk.

Found the solution on the citrix forums:
Execute this command on the console of the xenserver (you can use putty to connect via SSH).
xe vm-param-set uuid=<vmuuid> platform:viridian=false
<vmu

I have noticed the same issue. It looks like we have to wait for an update before we can install it like this. Windows 7 Beta does install on VMWare ESXi though.
