XenServer requires virtualization support from the CPU. Intel's technology is called VT. AMD's version is AMD-V. This is an option you can enable or disable in BIOS. What make and model server are you installing on?

I tried to set up a virtual server opn XenServer 5 in my XenCenter.
But it does not start, saying:
HVM is required for this operation.
I did everything as they say in there video exept: I am using the local hard disk.
I select "Windows Server 2003" from the Templates and use an image from "Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard" (BX2SFPP_DE.iso)
Does anyone have an idea ...
Thank you for every tip.

Well, VT should work, as the guys working at the data center told me, but I am not quite sure.
During installation of XenServer, the program said VT would not be there. I tried again after making sure it is not disabled in the BIOS and I did not see the message the second time I installed XenServer (maybe I clicked it away...)
The CPU is an E8400, which should support VT.
In the BIOS I only found:
Core Multiplex Technology <Enable>
...
Virtual Appliance (VA)
VA Operation <Enable>
....
I would expect something with ...VT..., but I have no experience with VT mainboards.
Unfortunately I don't now which mainboard is installed.
It's a rented system (http://www.cs-arena.com/i
So far the guys where very cleaver. I would not expect them not to know/tell me if the mainboard does not support VT.
See if this utility can help:

One of two things:
1. You do not have the virtualization option enabled in the computer's BIOS
2. Your processors do not support virtualization
