Create simple command and Dragon NaturallySpeaking

Hello,

I just submitted a question about using Dragon NaturallySpeaking (DNS) 9.5 in gaming but this question is much more basic.  

Can you tell me how to create a simple command in DNS?  For example, let's say that I want a command so that when I say "shadow everything", it does the same as the Select All command (i.e. Ctrl+a).  I tried to create that command in several ways but every time it simply inserts whatever I have typed in the contents box.  I have tried Ctrl+a, {Ctrl+a}, and "{Ctrl+a}" but in each case, it just pastes the content box entry.

How do I get it to actually press a particular key(s) or do a particular action rather than just pasting what I have typed in the content box?
