Before I do that, what would be the downside of enabling the Dragon NaturallySpeaking add-on and see if in fact Excel does not function normally?
How severe a warning is this? In the past whenever I see something like "if you do this, then that might happen" messages, I usually tried it. In this specific case, if Excel does start to be, nonfunctioning, wouldn't it be correctable by a disabling the add-on again?

Hi Photoman,
This sounds like one of those problems that you could spend hours, even days troubleshooting and to no avail. We know that the add-in does work when all is going well. May I be so bold as to suggest that perhaps quickest solution is to:
1. Export your Dragon users files to a safe location. (DragonBar >> NaturallySpeaking >> Manage Users >> Advanced >> Export, then select the location).
2. Uninstall Dragon.
3. Uninstall Office.
4. Reinstall Office.
5. Reinstall Dragon.
6. Import your user files by doing the same as above, but selecting Import.
