I am in the process of setting up programs after upgrading through a clean install to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and am having difficulties with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.1 (64-bit). Everything was working fine in XP Pro 32-bit, using DNS 10.0 32-bit version...
In running the audio setup wizard, I get an error message "Audio Setup Wizard cannot find the sound system. Try checking if there is a multimedia sound system on your system." ..well, of course there is! But how can this knowledge help me resolve my problem?
I get the problem with new user voice files and files imported that were working well beforehand.
I have tried what is offered in the post on 27/08/08 07:25 AM, ID: 23681060 re the same error message but under XP and an earlier version of DNS, but to no useful effect...
I am using a Sennheiser BW900 microphone connected through its base station using an Andrea AK5370 USB pod connection to my PC. I have 4BG Ram.
My microphone works OK with this configuration when using (I presume) the Microsoft Speech Recognizer 8.0 for Windows that comes bundled with Windows 7 / Speech Recognition. The USB Audio Device appearing under the 'Sound' (recording tab) from the Control Panel, shows movement of the bars when I speak through the mic.
Here are details of my motherboard:
