Hi Folks:
I have a new AT&T 8525 PDA Phone (with Push-To-Talk). MS lists the 8525 as compatible device (as do their re-seller sites) for Voice Command. The program will NOT install. After paying $40 for the package, MS now wants another $35 to make it work.
Phone's OS is Windows Mobile 5.0 - Desktop host is 2 yr old Centrino with XP-Pro (SP2 - fully up-to-date)
The Voice Command software is the most current version, but the phone's firmware is an April version where HTC shows October as the latest version. Anybody want to venture a guess as to whether I need to upgrade the ROM on the phone??
I've been through the Install several times now, and the only path I can see is to the desktop of the host PC. I am not given an option to select or modify the path to the phone.
I am not able to find anything to enable/disable the software.
Running Active-Sync trouble shooter finds no issues - the install on the phone fails either when the progress bar just starts, or after one segment.
I only had one installed program (Live Search), and I have removed that.
