Merete,
i totally understand that, but VSS is enable on the server.

Nicky

Although VSS may be enabled on the server, the Open File Technology used in your job is VSP (Veritas Snapshot Provider). And your disk is too busy to get the 5 seconds of qiuet time (i.e. no writes on the volume) this technology needs to make a snapshot.
Two possible solutions:
* http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/274305.htm (set the time to 2 seconds)
* Go into the Advanced Open File Option settings of your backup job, and instead of Automatic selection of the best technology, fix the technology used for AOFO to VSS.

Hi Hon,
The backups still have the AOFO errors. i kinda figured out what could be causing the AOFO error. We have couple of batch files scheduled to copy data across to servers across the network. i will have to find out which server is copying to the server that is experiencing the AOFO error. Will let u know if i come right.
Thanks

Are the AOFO errors still identical?
Have you tried fixing the snapshot technology to VSS instead of VSP or automatic?
Make sure you're not running a scheduled AV scan.

Hi Hon,
Yeah, always the same server and same directory. occasionally it will be different files.
Did not think about the AV Scan, will double check. Regarding the VSS, how would it impact the server and doesn't VSS need to be allocated space for the snapshot?
Thanks
