I also have standalone server (not VM) DL140 G3 4gig ram, Win2008, lt04 1840 scsi tape device and fast scsi card with Symantec Backup Exec 12.5, sp2 + patches applied connected to Vmware network.
I'm now trying to restore Exchange 2003 70gig Mailstore and it is extensively slow!!! it took 10 hours.
I have applied the remote agent and symantec sp2 to vm exchange but no joy on performance.
I have also tried restoring normal users files, word, excel etc and too facing the same problem,
When doing further test, i have restored to local backup exec server and seems much faster as expected. I believe this issue related to vmware machines.
Please anyone help me?
thanks
