I have used both products and we have totally removed BackupExec. We are currently on Netbackup 6.0 and will be going to 6.5.4 in the next few months and 7.0 once it is release. BackupExec is excellent in smaller environments. The problem is that it can only backup one stream at a time. In larger environments, Netbackup can perform multiple streams per job. This creates faster backups. Also, BackupExec is licensed per product, per option, per client. Symmantec's new license model, according the meeting last week with our account rep, will be a per TB license for Netbackup. This will allow for unlimited clients licenses. Also, our the one thing we do not like about Netbackup currently is that we cannot restore a singel email from just the information store backup. With the upgrade, there is no longer the need to backup the store and the mailboxes seperately. You will be able to restore emails based solely off the information store backup. An additional advantage to Netbackup\PureDisk is that it dedups the data. I hope this answers you question. Please feel free to let me know if you have any additional ones.
