nt backup task not running

We have an nt backup command in a bat file set to run through the task scheduler. It has stopped running automatically through the bat file. When the bat file is run manually, it works, but it doesn't work via the task scheduler. I can't seem to find anything in the event viewer to help me. Does anybody know what could cause this failure or how I can view some sort of logs to figure out what's wrong? Thanks.
