We have Symantec 11d on 2003 R2 Enterprise. I setup the backups to backup to disk and set it to overwrite. For some reason the backups are creating new snapshots everytime a backup is run. How do I set it up so only one snapshot is kept?
This depends how long your backups take. You need to set append and overwrite protection period's accordingly which are very confusing to set properly. If your backup takes a few hours or less and your just running daily full's then what i would do is set overwrite proction period to a bit more than the time it takes for a backup to run (to ensure nothing is overwritten during the process), and set your append period to one day, so after one day it can't append so it tries to overwrite.
