Thanks for your response. I tried to describe my findings; here are the answers to your questions:
1. Setup failed to get the Operating system of client [hostname].
2. Before i got the routing right it the installer couldn't contact the host and therefor got an time-out.
3. When i ping i get a normal reply. When i try to run the installer i get answer #1.
4. The (remote) install of the CommVault iDataAgent.
Ad. 1: This is while trying "Checking OS version of client [hostname]".
Ad. 2: Because the time-out now is gone, i assume it can make contact with the host.
Ad. 4: I have done this already about 20 times without problems. The difference with this machine is that it's on another VLAN.

Hi,
No offence but your question makes no sense at all. What message does the installer return? What got a time-out of about a minute? What message comes back immediately now that you can ping the machine?
What is it is not working?
