Gost Boot Disk Wizard trying to format a floppy when "Microsoft RIS Boot Option" selected
I'm having a bit of a problem with getting RIS and to work together for workstations I'd like to image using PXE rather than floppies. The issue is that when using the "Ghost Boot Wizard" and selecting "Microsoft RIS Boot Option" I recieve an error the "Could not format the floppy disk" at the end of the process. It's my understanding that this should generate the necessary startup scripts on the RIS server and not a floppy.
The "Microsoft RIS Boot Option" selections I am making:
Network Interface Card - PXE packet Driver
Dos Version - PC-DOS
Client Type - Symantec Ghost (path c:\program files\ghost\ghost.exe
External Storage Support - none selected
Network Settings - DHCP will assign the IP Settings
RIS Menu Details - Boot Menu Name - Test
Boot Description - PXE Packet Driver
Boot Directory - test
Aftter clicking next at the review screen I reveive the error - Could not format the floppy disk. Check the drive and try again.
I have installed:
Windows 2003 Standard with Microsoft RIS installed
Ghost Solution Suite 2.0
Ris is working fine: I can power on a workstation, F12 for a network boot and connect to the RIS box without any problem.
I suspect I missed a step somewhere along the line but can't seem to figure it out.
Many Thanks!

Thanks for the link. I followed the steps outlined there and still came up with the same "Could not format the floppy disk" error. Perplexing but will keep at it...

The first one on page 115 I'd not be surprised if it asks for a floppy.
It's titled To create a boot disk that supports RIS
The second one on page 117 might be what your after.
Booting client computers from the network

I've managed to resolve this issue. Apparently the version of the Boot Wizard that ships with Ghost Solution Suite 2.0 has a problem with RIS. I called Symantec Tech support and they sent me a new and working copy of the Boot Wizard.
It no longer goes looking for a floppy disk.
Note: even if a floppy disk was inserted and available on the server the error still occured.
Thanks for pointing out that doc qz8dsw!
