The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Ghostcast muticast issue with adding lan driver

Asked by QEMS2 in Norton Ghost Backup Software, Computer Motherboards

Tags: symantec ghost, imaging

We are using an older version on ghost (8.2.0.1117) and have recently got some new machines in that we have created an image on and have tried using ghost to create an image but ghost is having an issue with the newer on board lan drivers.
This is the latest one i have downloaded from Asus and tried in input into ghost:
Realtek LAN Driver V5.726.525.2009
When I go into ghost boot wizard to add the new drivers on the server I have chosen tcp/ip network boot image, clicked add and then tried both the packet driver and NDIS2 driver, left the mode to automatic.

On the next screen it is asking me to use pcdos but that the files are not installed and asking me to install a floppy, carrying on i go to the next screen and click next to finish but get an error saying " a valid filename must be entered into this field before continuing" but there is no field for this.

If i click cancel and go back into boot wizard my drivers are still there but will still not let me image, it will load ghost on the machine but time out when casting.

I have checked my switch and it is open for multicasting and i have tried a seperate network card in the machine (ones from the old machine that i know have worked) and they worked straight away so i believe that it is a driver issue with the new lan on the mobos.

Can anyone help me get these drivers in ghost so i can multicast please

thanks
