Also - make sure you have the latest updates for this version.
I still prefer to do this via a Ghost boot disk rather than inside windows.

Browse All TopicsI am trying to image a laptop using Ghost 14 to a ReadyNAS NV+ 1 TB storage device. The readynas is set up using SHARE security and i can access the shares and directoryies easily fomr the browser, mapped drives etc. no problmes

However, if i try to set up an image job form NG, i can not connect. get E710041 unable to establish network connection and EBAB03F1 password not correct
the share i am trying to write to on ReadyNAS is called ghost_images the full path is 192.168.1.66\ghost_images\
the readynas system with security set as SHARE doesnt requre a password. though i have tried it both ways.
I have tried several login/pass combos ... including guest/pass which works fine to connct explorer or to map a drive to ReadyNAS ...
again, NO problme accessing the NAS with explorer ... can read, write, everthing .. very fast ..
I can not connect from my workstation either (XP-PRO) ... same issues ... and have has similar issues at work with the same setup though at times i can connect and i cant figure out what i did to make it happen.
I would appreciate any suggestions ....
I am guessing someone is going suggest baggin Norton .. which i am ready to do .. but just dropped $70 on ghost .. of course, have lost 10x that in my time ...

I have tried .... though i am not sure how to do this in the ReadyNAS SHARED mode. all you can do add or remove a password from the paricular share. there are no other options i can see. so i have tried with and without a password.
though about changeing ReadyNAS to "USER" mode .. so each user has assigned passwords .. so Norton has some login info to communicate. i have it feeling it cant cope with a network drive that has no security.
ReadyNAS and Ghost have the lasted OS and version already

Just for a test try setting permissions on the share to full permissions for 'everyone' as well setting the security under the security tab the same. That will help eliminate if there are issues with dropped packets/network card malfunctions
