Browse All TopicsI've been trying to configure NTBackup and Yosemite Backup to work with a new tape drive and all appears to be well expect when the Removable Storage service is disabled. I can enable the service and set it to automatic but I've noticed that when I logoff the Service Controller Manager goes through the following process:
Event 7035 | Service Controller Manager |The Removable Storage service was successfully sent a stop control.
Event 98 | Removable Storage Service | RSM was stopped.
Event 7036 | Service Controller Manager | The Removable Storage service entered the stopped state.
Event 7040 | Service Controller Manager | The start type of the Removable Storage service was changed from auto start to disabled.
It appears that Yosemite Backup and NTBackup rely on this service in order to configure backup schedules and to operate a backup process. I am frustrated and can't seem to figure out why this would happen. None of the other services just disable themselves due to a logoff. What gives?
Also, there will be an audit next week and I need to get this up and running asap and appreciate your help.
