Unable to mark Unknown/Unrecognised media as free using RSM/NT Backup.

Hi there, we have an IBM 3581 LTO 2 tape drive connected to a Windows Server 2003 (Integrated Netfinity card attached to an IBM iSeries).

I can see the tape drive under RSM and I can see the media but the option to set it as "Free" is greyed out. Under the properties of the media it says that is read only even though the write protect tab is open.

We have been having problems since we upgraded to Symantec Backup Exec 12 from version 10 and Symantec tech support won't help us out until I can get the server to do a backup using NT Backup. But because I can't mark the media as free Nt Backup won't play ball.

Any ideas?
