Backup strategy for XP

I am reconfiguring a Win XP Dell PC.  I have a choice of how I proceed.

I intend to use Symantec Ghost and Memeo to backup my data files to an external hard disk.


I have two internal 160GB drives andx was thinking about 2 options:
1)  configure them as mirrored RAID drives or,
2)  use one drive for Windows and the other for my data files?
