Volume Shadow Copy Operation Failed

hi all,
Our SBS2003 Server was running an NT Volume Shadow copy everyday just fine, we back up large data into a removable drive until two days ago when we had a power outage and our UPS blew its battery so the server were shut down twice. When we started the server, it was deleting some files, building indexes..etc so we did let it do its job, Now its working fine we can access everything EXCEPT everytime we try to run the back we get the following error:

Volume shadow copy creation: Attempt 1.
"WMI Writer" has reported an error 0x800423f3. This is part of System State. The volume shadow copy operation can be retried.
Volume shadow copy creation: Attempt 2.
"WMI Writer" has reported an error 0x800423f3. This is part of System State. The volume shadow copy operation can be retried.
Volume shadow copy creation: Attempt 3.
"WMI Writer" has reported an error 0x800423f3. This is part of System State. The volume shadow copy operation can be retried.
Volume shadow copy creation has failed after trying 3 times. The backup cannot continue.

I ran the Checkdisk and Scan disk utilities and didn't find anything, is there anything else I can do?
