Browse All TopicsA while ago, my hard drive crashed and I had to get a replacement hard drive for my HP tx1000 with Windows Vista laptop. I did run a backup, but when I tried to run a restore I get a message that says that there is no backup file. When I looked to see what type of backup file that I had, I noticed that there is two files. One is an application file named Backup.001 and the other file is Backup.002 FBW file. I searched on-line to find out what type of file the fbw is and I found that it is a HP back up file, so I don't know why it my computer doesn't recognize the files. When I double click the application file it asks for permission to run the program, but then does nothing. I don't understand why my computer won't run the restore. Can anyone help me?

1. In the root of C: If you have a directory named System Recover Files, rename it to SRFOLD (or anything you like)
2. Boot into safe mode. (F8 at the windows splash screen)
3. Click on the Backup.001 Be very patient, this could take several minutes before you see anything.
