Second Copy Unable to create ~SCTEMP.TMP file

Dear Experts
I have been an extremely happy user of second copy for quite a number of years now. However, ever since I upgraded to this machine which uses Windows Vista, I have been getting some odd errors, similar to this one:
 
19/10/2009 19:09:59 - Unable to create g:\path\~SCTEMP.TMP Cannot create file "g:\path\~SCTEMP.TMP". Access is denied
 
(Please see attached log file)
 
What is odd is that:
 
1. Once the error appears, it recurs every time I run second copy
2. It seems to appear on folders which are protected - however I have administrator priviledges and can access those folders.
3. Other files within the protected folders are copied by second copy without a problem.
 
The backup is done from the shared drive on the server (running SBS 2003) on to a USB - IDE hard drive (Buffalo Mini Station - Hitachi HTS541616J9AT00 USB device) indicated as "g" above.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I had tried this in the past when I previously encountered the problem and found that although it no longer needs the ~SCTEMP.TMP file as it now writes the actual file direct to the target folder, it is the actual file that it now can't copy and therefore comes up with a similar error message.
There's something that doesn't allow the backup program to access the target folder, even though the user does have administrator priviledges and can read/access/write to both the source and target folders. I am tending to suspect this is something to do with Vista security and the whole business of User Account Control (UAC). I will be back in the office tomorrow so I can experiment some more and update my findings. Would be grateful if anyone else has experienced similar issues.

One Way to test is to make sure Volume Shadow Copy is set to Automatic and try again.
You can also try runing the program as adminstator with a right mouse click  and try again.
I would also try disabling UAC too.

Switching User Account Control did the trick so it is not actually a Second Copy issue as I erroneously thought, but a Vista security issue. The following article explains things a little better (sent to me by Second Copy support team interestingly enough) http://msinfluentials.com/blogs/jesper/archive/2007/01/16/help-vista-won-t-let-me-write-to-my-external-hard-drive.aspx.
