Format a partition and move the data to another partition

Hello,

So, I've a partition (180 GB used) on the server (D:\old) which have all kind of data on it.
To name a few, we have folders for roaming profiles, SharePoint database, accounting information for quickbooks etc. Before some time, all those things were copied to a new drive and we started using them and discontinued using D:\old but we had it there just in case. Now I want to completely remove all the data there and use it for something else. But when I go into some folders, some of the files are modified recently in this month.

I want to know what exactly changed in this files and folders so I'm not missing anything important. I dont want to take any chances. I dont want to wipe off the partition and then figure out that it was using DB for SharePoint from here. So I need some suggestions on how should I proceed with this.

Thank you,
Smary
