daily weekly and monthly backup

Few days before i have discussed the daily, weekly and monthly backup of oracle in TSM by using different different file types and different mgt classes, that is fine
MR. WMP (respectable) helped me a lot,

That has a problem to MY DBA for restoration as he has to use different opt files for restoration, further he has to restore ctlr file by using one tdpo.opt for weekly backup and he has to restore data files from some other tdpo.opt files

can it be possible to use one file type as define orc_db09 for backup and take daily, weekly and monthly backup on different mgt classes so that backup will go on different tapes

Hi again,

sorry for the delay, I've been on vacation.

If you use different option files for backup, you also have to use different ones for restore.
Currently I see no other way.

As for the control file - why not set CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON; in RMAN, so that the control file gets saved with every backup? You can then restore the controlfile along with the data (daily, weekly amd monthly versions).
