i  dont want to eject the Volumes from library until the Primary storage pool is copied to copied stgpool , How to achieve this . i can check using q content command . i need to put a restriction so tapes would not be ejected Accidentally . and want to automate it .

There is no such restriction with TSM, neither implicitly nor explicitly.

A CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME REM=YES (or MOVE DRM REM=YES for copypool volumes) will work under any circumstance.

I don't know your library, maybe it has some kind of "locking" mechanism.

just a question why do you want to eject the primary tape pool? The normal function for TSM is to only eject the copy pool tapes

If I'm understanding correctly your copy pool media is being ejected before the storage pool backup is completed. If that's the case you need to check your script and add the parameter wait=yes to the sentence starting with "backup stgpool primary_pool copy_pool ..."

Hi I have just signed up for this expert group.
can you provide any information about the steps you are taking
because checking out tapes by using drm is a possiblity but there are more ways to achief what you want

Never eject current tapes from your library. If your library is too small, extend it if possible
