I have backed up 1TB of data attached to a local ibm lto 4 drive which finishes in 8 hours (inlcuding the verify process)
the drive speed is around 1500MB / min

Guys can you tell me apporx estimated time to take a backup & restore of 1GB data by using TSM.

It can be from 30minutes to an hour or may be more ;
it depends on a few factors :
Local backup (backup device attached locally would be faster as compared to over the network backup)
if you are backing up to tape (the speed of your tape drive)
if you are backing up to a disk based backup (the speed of your disk)
then it also depends on the type of data ;
what type of device you are backing up on ?
what type of data ?
over the network backup or local device attached ?
