email rsync failure script

I need a simple script to have rsync send failure non failure information to an email. Also, need date and time it occured. Below is the simple rsync script I wrote:

/usr/bin/rsync -azv --delete-after /interface/infnexti/PNEXTI/ root@somecompany.com:/interface/infnexti/PNEXTI/ >> /var/log/rsync_15min.log

This might work. I used this script format to send myself an email after each rsync that run's via a cron job daily. I can then check my inbox to see the time and date stamp of the email and also if the job failed and how much data was transfered. It should be ran as one long command line no page breaks.

/usr/bin/rsync --stats -azv --delete-after /interface/infnexti/PNEXTI/ root@somecompany.com:/interface/infnexti/PNEXTI/ >> /var/log/rsync_15min.log 2>&1 && mail -s "RSYNC Success: PNEXTI Archived Successfully" johndoe@aol.com < /var/log/rsync_15min.log || mail -s "RSYNC Failure: PNEXTI Failed to Archive" johndoe@aol.com < /var/log/rsync_15min.log
