External USB drive lost its partition, how to recover it?

Hi

I have a 500 gig external usb 2.0 hard drive

I plugged this in to muy laptop and copied some data to it, which all went over OK.
I then plugged it into another machine, which then said it needed formatting (I didnt do it)

Is there any way I can recover the partition without formattting it? I have some very large files located on the drive that I cant afford to loose. The largest being 74 gig

The operating systems I used for this are Windows XP SP2 and Windows 2003 SP2

Any ideas anyone?Start Free Trial
