How to break a RAID 1 mirror?

So, I have a Dell XPS system, with the raid controller Intel SATA 82801FR.
I had a RAID 1, and one of the disks failed, and the RAID is reported as "degraded".
All I want to do now, is to have this disk rebuilt as a non-raid disk.
I've already read the manual, and I don't see how to do it, though I think it should be something possible to do.
