My client's pc runs vista and everytime I boot it, it displays a routine for Vista troubleshooting, which tries running, before displaying a message similar to "Can't automatically repair Windows".
I've taken it back to my office for checking, inserted the HDD into a SATA caddy, then connected to USB. It starts to recognise the HDD, but then says the HDD requires formatting. This pc was apparently working fine a couple of days ago, until they tried installing a webcam (unfortunately connecting before installing the software...)
Could this have completely rendered the HDD useless? He has lots of photos/documents which I'm trying to recover before performing a system restore to clear the system out.
When trying with a secondary HDD also in the caddy (from the same client machine - 2 x HDD's) my computer doesn't recognise the HDD in "My Computer".
