Dell 2650 PERC 3/DI doesn't find new drives

I'm trying to add storage to my Dell 2650 PERC 3/DI.

System Bios is A21 (current)
Perc 3/di v is 2.8-1 6098 which isn't the most current build but close

I currently have 2 fujitsu 34 GB - Ultra320 SCSI in raid 1 for the OS (sbs2003R2)

I've just purchased 3 - 37 GB fusjitsu Ultra320 SCSI drives which I want to set up as Raid 5 for sql server data (not touching the os raid container)

When I go into Raid config tool <ctrl-a> I've tried to initialize the drives but the new drives are not recognized.  I tried installing one at a time, but no joy.
