I am using windows 2003 OS with SATA Hard Disk. When I tried to attach another SATA Hard Disk, windows 2003 OS is not detecting. But the Hard Disk is showing in Computer Management.
The attached SATA Hard Disk is formatted and using in Windows XP. How to enable the attached SATA Drive.
I heard some solutions like converting basic to dynamic disk etc., But I want the exact reason why this happens and solution for this. When I try to do the same in Windows XP it automatically detects any number of attached Hard DIsks.

Already I have the drives with Letters like C, D, E. The hard disk that I was trying to attach is also lettered same like C, D, E in windows XP computer. When I attach any another HDD to my windows XP Computer, that Windows XP computer was able to detect the HDD with the partitions. When I do the same in Windows 2003 the HDD is detecting but the drives was not showing in My Computer, but able to see in Computer Management. I hope you understand my problem.
if you mean assigning drive letters to the attached hard disk in windows 2003, I say no. I have done this when that HDD is using with windows XP (by default XP assigns letters while partitioning). Can you explain me how to assign drive letter to each partition for attached HDD in windows 2003 which was already using in windows xp with different drive letter partition.
